Every year on 5 October, World Teachers’ Day celebrates teachers around the globe and recognises their essential role in shaping education and our future.
🌍 World Teachers’ Day 2026
“Standing with teachers: 60 years of protecting the profession, advancing its status and shaping our futures.”
In 2026, the celebration marks the 60th anniversary of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers.
This year is an opportunity to celebrate teachers while reflecting on the challenges facing the profession, from digital technologies and climate change to inclusion, migration and displacement, and on the support teachers need to fully develop their talent and vocation.
