We would like to share the latest edition of the European School Education Platform newsletter, which highlights new opportunities for recognising teachers’ digital competencies, strengthening data literacy and digital wellbeing, and accessing fresh professional learning resources.

What you will find in this edition:

  • European recognition scheme for teachers’ digital competencies - eTwinning teachers can now gain European‑level recognition for their digital skills through a new scheme supporting professional growth and career development. Completing all steps leads to a certificate recognising digital competence at B2 (expert) level.
  • New podcast episode - The latest Teachers of Europe podcast explores how teachers can help pupils build curiosity, ethical awareness and critical thinking when working with data across subjects such as maths, science and social studies.
  • Survey on digital wellbeing in schools - Teachers and stakeholders are invited to share insights on digital wellbeing, including screen time, digital distractions and online risks. The survey is open until 31 May 2026.
  • Courses - Self‑paced materials include a child‑centred approach to playful reading.
  • Webinars - Upcoming webinars address AI technologies for numeracy (21 May), financial literacy (27 May) and practical AI tips for teachers (4 June).
  • Articles and publications - Recent publications cover creative teaching through Erasmus+ mobility, mobile phone use in schools, EU initiatives on citizenship education, history education for critical thinking, AI literacy in VET, and guidance on copyright and responsible AI use.
