We would like to share the latest edition of the European School Education Platform newsletter, which celebrates teachers, highlights new opportunities for digital competence development and showcases resources supporting basic skills, coding and professional growth.
What you will find in this edition:
- World Teachers’ Day - Marking World Teachers’ Day, this edition explores the importance of soft skills, peer mentoring and international experiences in supporting teachers’ professional growth and their role as agents of change.
- Building basic skills through eTwinning - The new 2026 eTwinning book shows how collaborative projects can help develop literacy, mathematics, science, digital and citizenship skills, providing practical ideas for teachers across all educational levels.
- Share your views on the new DigCompEdu framework - Educators and researchers are invited to contribute to the update of the European Framework for the Digital Competence of Educators (DigCompEdu). The survey is open until 31 October 2026.
- EU Code Week 2026 (10–25 October) - Discover activities, lesson plans and resources to introduce coding and computational thinking in the classroom, with opportunities for schools and teachers to get involved regardless of previous coding experience.
- Courses - Autumn courses are currently available in a self‑paced format due to the EU Academy platform migration.
- Webinars - Upcoming webinars focus on empathetic AI for literature and social and emotional learning (16 October) and building resilience for growth (19 October).
- Articles and resources - Recent resources explore green skills in VET, science teaching ideas, data protection for schools, support for multilingual learners and language support for migrant and refugee students.
