We would like to share the latest edition of the European School Education Platform newsletter, which focuses on shared values in education, professional development opportunities for teachers, and new resources supporting democratic participation, citizenship and classroom innovation.

What you will find in this edition:

  • World Teachers’ Day – Marking 5 October, this edition highlights a dedicated survey inviting teachers to share their views on the profession, its challenges and what is needed to make teaching more attractive, sustainable and rewarding. The survey is open until 6 November 2025.
  • Expert insights and European practices - A collection of articles exploring how schools across Europe foster democratic participation, tolerance and respect for diversity through projects and whole‑school initiatives. Contributions include the Finnish approach to embedding active citizenship and reflections on nurturing shared values by experts such as Nina Pettinen and Mario Bajkuša.
  • Courses and webinars – Upcoming online courses covering Erasmus+ opportunities (KA1 & KA2) and support for newly qualified teachers in October 2025. Webinars include a session on effective practicum experiences for student teachers on 04.11.2025, plus a wide range of self‑paced learning materials on critical thinking, AI and data ethics, numeracy, collaboration through eTwinning, smartphone use in class, and more.
  • New educational materials – Newly published resources include an eTwinning book on citizenship education, a podcast episode on positive gender norms in school, updated guides for eTwinning and Erasmus+, and several project kits focusing on science, literacy, sustainability and entrepreneurship.
