We would like to share the latest edition of the eTwinning newsletter, which highlights new research on eTwinning’s impact, recent community activities, ready‑to‑use classroom resources and fresh training opportunities for teachers across Europe.

What you will find in this edition:

• Understanding eTwinning’s impact on learning - A new study by INDIRE (Italy) explores how participation in eTwinning projects supports pupils’ personal, social, digital and intercultural competencies. Join the online discussion with researchers and teachers on 10 June at 16:00 CEST and download the publication.

• Europe Day – Discover how teachers and pupils across Europe marked Europe Day on 9 May, reflecting on what it means to be part of a shared European community.

• Insights from recent workshops across Europe - Highlights from collaborative workshops in Thessaloniki, where school leaders explored inclusive leadership and basic skills, and in Vilnius, where eTwinning ambassadors focused on communication, engagement and community building.

• eTwinning activities ready for your classroom - Two project kits from the 2025 eTwinning book offer practical activities on democracy and social responsibility, and on gender equality and civic engagement, helping pupils reflect on key societal issues.

• New training opportunities - Access the recording of the Basic Skills Fair, join the course Inclusive numeracy through real‑world data and eTwinning (8 June), and explore collaboration opportunities through featured groups.

• EU Learning Corner - A free multilingual platform offering games, quizzes, lesson plans and videos on democracy, climate action and digital skills, available in all 24 EU languages.

What you will find in this edition:

• European recognition scheme for teachers’ digital competencies - eTwinning teachers can now gain European‑level recognition for their digital skills through a new scheme supporting professional growth and career development. Completing all steps leads to a certificate recognising digital competence at B2 (expert) level.

• New podcast episode - The latest Teachers of Europe podcast explores how teachers can help pupils build curiosity, ethical awareness and critical thinking when working with data across subjects such as maths, science and social studies.

• Survey on digital wellbeing in schools - Teachers and stakeholders are invited to share insights on digital wellbeing, including screen time, digital distractions and online risks. The survey is open until 31 May 2026.

• Courses - Self‑paced materials include a child‑centred approach to playful reading.

• Webinars - Upcoming webinars address AI technologies for numeracy (21 May), financial literacy (27 May) and practical AI tips for teachers (4 June).

• Articles and publications - Recent publications cover creative teaching through Erasmus+ mobility, mobile phone use in schools, EU initiatives on citizenship education, history education for critical thinking, AI literacy in VET, and guidance on copyright and responsible AI use.

The Office of the Secretary-General of the European Schools (OSGES) is pleased to invite teachers and educational staff to an upcoming webinar entitled “When Students Lead the Green Way”, to be held on Monday 15th June 2026, from 16:15 to 17:45 (CET).

The webinar will be delivered by Ms. Anastasia Zanni, Sustainability Coordinator for the Nursery and Primary cycles at the European School Brussels III (EEB3). The session will explore practical approaches to helping primary school students take an active role in sustainability initiatives through student participation, collaboration and shared decision-making. Through interactive activities and examples of practice, participants will discover simple tools that can help transform teacher-led environmental activities into meaningful student-led projects.

The webinar will provide:

• Practical strategies to support student participation and leadership in sustainability projects
• Examples of student-led eco-initiatives adapted for primary education
• Interactive activities and collaborative reflection opportunities
• A simple 4-step framework that can be applied in participants’ own school contexts

We warmly encourage primary teachers, sustainability coordinators and all colleagues interested in environmental education and student participation to participate.

In this Webinar, Elita Račiņa, Secondary Cycle Inspector for the European Schools from Latvia and Chair of the Board of Secondary Cycle Inspectors during the Latvian Presidency (2025/2026), will explore how Mission & Vision principles can be meaningfully developed and implemented within schools and classrooms.

The session will introduce the terminology and core principles behind the Mission and Vision document and provide practical strategies for activating these ideas at both school and classroom levels. Through shared practice and collaborative activities, participants will develop a clearer and more unified understanding of the Mission, Values, Vision and Development Pillars, while also experimenting with practical classroom approaches that can be directly applied in their own teaching contexts.

The webinar will combine theoretical input, real examples, individual and group interactive tasks, and a short quiz at the end of the session.

We are pleased to share information about the upcoming Inclusion Talks 2026 webinar, organised by EASNIE as part of this year’s thematic series on inclusive education.

In this Webinar, Laura Joma, State Methodologist in Social Sciences at the Latvian Ministry of Education & Science, will share her experience on how pastoral care is integrated into the education system in Latvia. 

The seminar will cover how the educational process is organized from preschool through the completion of general secondary education, as well as explain the role of the class teacher in ensuring students’ well-being and resilience against various risks.

Europe101, a free online leadership programme (in English) for young adults aged 16 to 30, organizes a new cohort, starting on June 22^nd, 2026.

What is Europe101? This program offers young people the chance to develop essential leadership skills, expand their network, and prepare for future challenges, all with a strong connection to Europe.

What the program offers for young adults:

• Expanding their network: Participants connect with other motivated young people and influential leaders across Europe.
• A certificate: Upon completion, participants receive a certificate and LinkedIn badge, which they can showcase to potential employers and their network.
• Practical leadership skills: Through the innovative Liquid Leadership model, participants learn how to adapt to today’s challenges and develop their own leadership style.
• Free: The program is fully funded by Europe’s philanthropists, making it available at no cost to participants. It requires only a commitment of 3 hours per week for 4 weeks.
